Things to Do This Halloween in San Diego

Posted by shayadmin on Monday, August 21st, 2017 at 7:47 am

If you’re anything like us, you’re already trying to hang up some Halloween decorations and get into the spirit of the best holiday of the entire year. Some may disagree with that statement, but I don’t think many will disagree that San Diego has some of the best Halloween events in all of Southern California.

We put together a few of our top Halloween picks for the kids, the family, and even just for the adults to make sure you maximize your fun this year!

The Haunted Hotel

If you have yet to attend this haunted house that is the longest running in San Diego, this is the year! Not only has The Haunted Hotel been a winner of many awards over the years, but also the Travel Channel featured it in their “America Haunts IV” episode.

They have been dedicated to scaring everyone who enters for years, and this year is no different. There is a Zombie alleyway, creepy dolls that chase you, and a clown subway! Every year gets bigger, better, and creepier. Check it out this year from 9/22-10/31 in the Gaslamp District.

Seaworld’s Halloween Spooktacular Weekends

Unlike our last destination, this is one the whole family can enjoy, including your youngest kids! The Halloween Spooktacular is known to be one of San Diego’s most child-friendly events.

You will find the entire area decorated with Halloween décor, you’ll go trick or treating, and you can enjoy an entire area dedicated to Dia de los Muertos. There you will be immersed in Mexican culture and have the opportunity to learn all about the traditional holiday.

That’s not all though!

Elmo and other Sesame Street character will meet up at the Count’s Castle for a fun costume party only to find out that the Count has gone missing! You and your kids can help them find the Count and save the day.

You also won’t want to miss the ever-popular Clyde and Seamore’s Halloween Bash. These are San Diego’s most beloved sea lions and for great reason! This comical sea lion duo will entertain with amusing tricks and guests like OP Otter to join in on the fun.

So, whatever your plans, spending your Halloween in San Diego is guaranteed to be a wonderfully spooky time!

San Diego Halloween PubCrawl

If you’re looking to get together with your friends and have a party without doing the morning after cleanup of your trashed apartment, we have the answer for you! The San Diego Halloween PubCrawl offers you a chance to get dressed up in your best Halloween Costume and hop from place to place.

The main thing that you’ll get on this Pub crawl that no one else will is special drink offers for everyone wearing the wristband that you’ll get when you arrive for the night. You’ll definitely like the special, as no other bar will even come close to matching the drink prices.

You won’t be told where you’re going ahead of time, but when you arrive, you’ll get a map with all the locations to go to. Just because you’ve done it one night doesn’t mean that the next will have the same bar spots, so go again if you think you’re missing out (because you might be!)

Stay Safe!

Be sure to take care of yourself when you’re out and about, especially if you’re going to be out late at night. If you want to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the fun Halloween events this year in San Diego, why not move here!?
