Why 92127 is the Best Place to live in San Diego
In the summer of 2001, my old red Toyota pick-up truck was filled with my wife and two very young sons Troy and Raymond with our third son Ryan on the way as we pulled into the 4S Ranch Community.
The housing tracks of the master-planned communities of 4S Ranch and Del Sur had just begun freshly cutting into the open and rolling hills in this north San Diego community. There was even a ferris wheel and a carnival to encourage potential buyers to tour the new home developments.
I knew almost immediately that 4S Ranch, Del Sur, Crosby Estates, and Santaluz were going to be exceptional communities and the most important factor was that all of them were in the Poway School District, which to this day remains one of the best in our entire nation.
Despite being an off-duty San Diego Police Lieutenant, I still recall turning away from the salesperson and whispering to my wife, “I will hold the boys, just write the check!” I knew the look in her eyes immediately indicated we did not have enough money in our account to cover it. I told her, “Don’t worry, we will figure it out.” And we certainly have.
22 years later and having lived in multiple homes and estates in 4S Ranch, Del Sur, and Rancho Santa Fe, I know unequivocally we made the right decision for our family and as time goes on I recognize how very special this community is.
I consider it an honor and a privilege to help residents and people new to the area to learn about each of these communities as well as several more that have joined the tapestry of our beautiful, safe, and amazingly diverse community. Justifying why I called it the best place to live in San Diego.
5) 92127 is Safe
This area has an especially low crime rate and a supportive diverse community with multiple master planned communities.
4) Master Planned Community
It is all about the planning! 4S Ranch and Del Sur have over 10,000 homes and that does not include many of the gated communities that share their borders to include Santaluz, Rancho Santa Fe, Avaron, The Lakes, Crosby Estates.
3) Livability and walkability
I don’t know if “livability” is really a word. If it is not it certainly should be. To have so many local businesses within walking distance or a short bike ride away is amazing. To also have frequent HOA events to keep a sense of community in 92127 is so important. Neighbors get to know each other and the interaction is amazing
2) Terrain and Traffic Plan
There are so many hiking and biking trails as well as sports parks throughout this area. It is a great place to raise a family.
1) Top Schools in San Diego
In these communities are some of the best in the United States of America. The Poway School district is world-renowned and we also have several private schools in the area that are also very well respected.
