Top 6 San Diego Attractions

San Diego is one of the top 10 biggest cities in the United States, so it is not a surprise that there are plenty of activities, events and attractions to entertain locals and draw in visitors! San Diego Zoo

It’s no surprise this zoo is number one on our list of San Diego’s top attractions! As one of the top 10 largest zoos in the entire world, visitors come from far and wide to look at and learn about the 650+ species of animals this zoo holds. Their current featured exhibit is Africa Rocks and features all kinds of special animals and unique experiences.

Gaslamp Quarter

Although this area is not exactly an attraction per se, the Gaslamp Quarter is definitely a fun area unique to San Diego. It’s simple and easy to book dinner in the Gaslamp Quarter one evening, or even go out for drinks here! Regardless, it’s a fun and lively area that adds to San Diego’s charismatic qualities.

 

 

Beach Day at Coronado

California locals are generally known as frequent beach-goers, however San Diego has some of the best beaches in all of California! One of San Diego’s top beaches is called Coronado and is packed with all sorts of fun activities. Whether you want to lay on the large beach, swim, paddleboard or kayak in the ocean, or even just browse around the beach shops and restaurants, Coronado has it all! A day trip to Coronado is the perfect way to experience San Diego like a local.

 

SeaWorld

After some major changes in featured exhibits and operations, SeaWorld is back on track as one of San Diego’s most popular attractions. Although the parks went through some controversy for a while, Seaworld now prides itself on their incredible animal research and rescue programs. SeaWorld even has special attractions, exhibits and ticket prices for their Spooktacular Halloween event going on all month long during October!

Legoland

Legoland is a classic attraction for those families with younger kids. Not only can you purchase tickets for the park itself, but there is also a Legoland Waterpark, Legoland Aquarium and Legoland hotels. Whether you choose to make a day or a weekend out of it, Legoland is certainly not a San Diego attraction to forget.

 

USS Midway Museum

With Camp Pendleton bordering the San Diego in the north, the area is naturally a military town. A great way to learn more about war history is to board the longest-serving aircraft carrier of this century, located next to Navy Pier. Here, visitors can take tours, walk around some of the 60 exhibits, and get an in-depth look at the history of aircrafts in war. It’s an educational experience for the whole family to enjoy!
